Meals on Wheels of Denton County (MOWDC) / SPAN, Inc provides nutritionally balanced, home-delivered noon meals to homebound elderly and disabled citizens of Denton County. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday. The meals are delivered to the client’s door by trained volunteers, who are often the only people our clients see on a daily basis.

Last year, within Denton County, over 100,000 meals were served to the elderly in our community. Often, this is the only meal that our clients receive each day and sadly, it is often the only contact they have with another person.

Last year, within Denton County, over 60,000 trips were provided to seniors, veterans and persons with disabilities to allow them to remain as independent as possible, and in their home, where they want to be.

80% of our clients live well below the poverty line and on less than $600 per month. Our clients truly do not have the means to buy the necessities in life.

Also, did you know that MOWDC currently has a waiting list for seniors to become apart of the Meals on Wheels program.
